Antietam National Battlefield
Antietam National Battlefield is another close national park unit to my home. I was pleased to make my first visit in late August with a fellow photography enthusiast.
I have been to several battlefields this year and each one has their own unique sense of beauty and serenity. Both contrast the history of the sites, especially Antietam, claiming the bloodiest one day battle in American History.
Many years have gone by and the sweeping hills, rows of corn, preserved cemeteries, stone bridges and peaceful waterways make this battlefield and park an extraordinary place to visit.
