Bell Rock
Sedona is a captivating place. The red rocks, quaint town and breathtaking views in every direction are spectacular. I have been to Sedona twice and am already planning a third trip in 2015.
After stopping at the visitor center and speaking with a kind gentleman, filled with excitement for all things Sedona, I set out toward Bell Rock. I wanted to get close to the red rocks and he decided hiking around Bell Rock and the surrounding area was the best place to start. He was correct.
When I arrived at Bell Rock, a monsoon began to roll in. The sky immediately turned a stormy blue, contrasting the red rocks and lush green vegetation. The scene was incredible and I was thrilled to be taking it all in.
I grabbed my tripod and walked toward Bell Rock with a wide angle lens fixed to my camera. I captured wide and tight shots, mostly using my feet to change the perspective of my photographs. The entire time, tiny raindrops were falling around me. I knew the big ones were coming as the sky darkened and the wind picked up.
After twenty minutes of hiking around and smiling, I headed back to my car and safely watched the big storm roll through. Being in the desert during monsoon season can be quite captivating.
When I make my way back in 2015, I hope to catch the tail end of monsoon season and get in a few more miles on foot, around the red rocks.
