Travel | Chattahoochee National Forest

The highlight of my time in Chattahoochee National Forest was hiking to, and over, the swinging bridge. I also thoroughly enjoyed taking the Tiguan on its first dirt road. The huge ruts and bumps were handled nicely.

Favorite Hikes + Places to Explore

  • Appalachian Trail - nearly 80 miles of the AT passes through Georgia.

  • Chestatee Overlook - great views of the Chestatee River watershed and Blood Mountain Wilderness.

  • Lake Chatuge Recreation Area - located in the Georgia mountains with ample water activities to keep you busy.

  • Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa - part of the AT, this 270 foot swinging bridge takes you over the Toccoa River.
