Fall in Colorado
Travel | Fall in Colorado
There's no question that fall is my favorite season. I look forward to the crisp air, colorful leaves and beautiful skies all year long.
This year, I decided to take a road trip to one of my favorite mountain towns - Durango, Colorado. I packed up and hit the road during peak fall foliage season in southwest Colorado and spent days in awe of the colorful leaves and snow capped mountains.
I spent the first day driving between Durango and Silverton along scenic Route 550, also known as the Million Dollar Highway. The second day, I managed to do the full loop from Durango to Dolores, up to Telluride, through Ridgeway, Ouray and Silverton, making my way back down to Durango.
During the third day of my trip, I stayed in Durango and spent some down time enjoying the local restaurants and walking around town. My final day in town was spent on the fall photography tour on the Durango to Silverton Railroad. I will be sharing my experience on the train in a separate post.
All in all, it was an amazing trip. If you ever find yourself in southwest Colorado during the fleeting fall season, I recommend going for a nice drive and soaking in the beautiful fall colors.
