I wrote a children's book.

Sitting at my table in Dandy, purple notebook in hand, I wrote my first children’s book. This has been a passion project on my list for a few years. Finally putting pen to paper, reading the story to my nieces and nephews, and hearing their sweet giggles has been a beautiful experience.

What is this sweet little story about, you ask? The one and only, Dandy! Dandy the Van shares the journey of a precocious purple camper van exploring the United States with her three adventurous sidekicks, Lainy Cakes, Divi Sweets, and Davey Marshmallow.

Naturally, I am Lainy Cakes. A nickname given to me many years ago by my cousin. Davey Marshmallow is my older brother, David Sacramo. A nickname I gave him while he was in middle school, trying to be too cool for school with a more glamorous nickname of Davey Marbles. Divi Sweets is his wife, and my sister-in-law, Diane Bidi. Divi is one of her given nicknames and Sweets felt like a natural, fun add on.

This is a debut children’s book for all three of us. Me as an author and them as illustrators. The pages are fun, colorful, and beautiful. And the story is cute and sweet.

The book publishes on December 6, 2019, and will begin shipping immediately afterwards. To say we are excited to share this with you is an understatement!
