Bryce Canyon National Park
Between the always perfect light and amazing natural beauty of the hoodoos, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah is a captivating place. Wishing I spent more than two days exploring and hiking.
My visit was in November, the beginning of the winter season, resulting in low foot traffic and few dining options. Admittedly, I enjoyed having quiet trails and a bit of ease traveling around the park without any real congestion.
As with most national park visits, the park rangers were extremely helpful, providing information about the park and recommended trails for the winter season.
Favorite Hikes
Tower Bridge - rated a moderate, 3 mile round trip hike. The turn back point is at the base of the Tower Bridge with views of the China Wall along the way. The hike in seemed a bit more strenuous than the hike out, surprisingly.
Queens Garden Trail and Navajo Loop - combine these two trails for a longer hike through the hoodoos in the Bryce Amphitheater. I started at Sunrise Point on the Queens Garden Trail and then continued onto the Navajo Loop where the trails intersect. The Navajo Loop ends at Sunset Point, in the same general parking area as Sunrise Point.
Rim Trail - a short walk along the rim trail provides a beautiful overlook of the hoodoos, especially if you are looking for a quick and easy glance instead of a more involved hike.
