Delicate Pink
After spending nearly three weeks in Maryland over Christmas, I returned to Arizona. The warmer temperatures and brighter days were both welcome and enjoyable.
I received the Nikon 85mm 1.8 lens for Christmas and was excited to test it out. I went outside one morning, looking for blooming goodness, and came across these delicate pink blooms. The sky was still soft and clouds were rolling through, making the light conditions ideal for a wide aperture.
Thinking back, I spent a good twenty or thirty minutes photographing this pink scene. Few other flowers and trees were in bloom, making it easy to stay with this tree for a while. Plus, these pink leaves were too beautiful as they danced in the gentle breeze.
Although I missed getting closer to the details, I loved working with a prime lens, offering a wide range of f-stops for mixing up the depth of field.
