This photograph makes me happy, for many reasons. The presence of the mountain goat is at the top of the list. I have always wanted to see a mountain goat and did not expect to bump into one during my short walk in the Black Hills.

While traveling across the country, I stopped at Mount Rushmore on an extremely foggy day. After an hour or so waiting to see if the fog would lift, I decided to go for a stroll along the presidential trail before hopping back in my car.

As soon as I turned the first bend, this guy was waiting for me! I giggled out loud due to the unexpected surprise. Since the weather was rainy, I only had my iPhone with me to capture this awesome moment. I am always pleased with the capabilities of my iPhone camera and truly believe the best camera is the one that’s with you.

The mountain goat was gracious enough to pose for me in the foggy forest as I snapped away. He then strolled on, leaving me giddy and excited.
